The baby bump
Jo’s at twelve weeks now and guess what - she now has a baby bump. Its a little early, but its definitely a baby bump and its only going to grow from here.
This is both wonderful and terrible at the same time. I love the idea of feeling Zee kickin’ around in the womb, trying to find a comfy spot to wait out the lonely hours sitting around with nary a Nintendo DS or dare-I-say-it PSP in sight, but I get a little defensive when I think of other people volunteering to touch the bump in hopes of somehow magically feeling the baby. It seems people flock to baby bumps, like the bump bearer has a stretch mark that resembles the blessed virgin or something. I mean, its Jo’s body and its our baby - this isn’t the blarney stone or Lincoln’s nose we’re talking about here.
Joanna seems okay with it, but I think that will change when she has to charge a tummy-touching fee at family get-togethers because of the demand.
Maybe I’m over-reacting, family is fine. However, total strangers randomly asking to touch the baby bump? Um, no. Does that even happen? I have no idea. Share your baby bump stories below; let me know what to expect so I can be prepared (with a taser or mace if need be).

Look out Joanna, you will have strangers rubbing that belly everywhere you go.

I am one of those individuals that love the baby bump and I have no problem with people wanting to rub my belly. It usually will be family and friends that will do it. Shut up Shawn - this may be how we pay for our child’s college education if I start charging a fee.

Heh - she’s def. the cutest but also the most camera-shy. I don’t think you’ll see a pic of Jo until late into the second trimester. Ultrasound pics will be here before her beautiful mug will make it up.

For the most part, people just get excited about the mom-to-be’s belly… they mean no harm:) although I didn’t have complete strangers rubbing my belly (this may be due to the fact they were afraid to be puked on) but family and friends did all the time and it didn’t bother me:) just relax this is normal
