Non-Stress Test Results

It’s all good. Thalia has a strong heartbeat, and the RN said she’s very active.

Whew!

non-stress test this Saturday

Jo’s scheduled for a non-stress test this Saturday. What, you may ask, is a non-stress test? Let’s ask babycenter.com:

This simple, painless procedure is done during pregnancy to evaluate your baby’s condition. During the test, your healthcare practitioner or a technician monitors your baby’s heartbeat, first while the baby is resting and then while he’s moving. Just as your heart beats faster when you’re active, your baby’s heart rate should go up while he’s moving or kicking.

The test is typically done if you’ve gone past your due date, or in the month leading up to your due date if you’re having a high-risk pregnancy.

I’m not surprised the docs requested a test like this, after what we’ve been through the last two weeks. The baby’s been really moving around a lot lately, but she seems to be shy around the doctors. Maybe she’s a heavy sleeper? Who knows.

The test is scheduled for 1PM on request from the mom-to-be. I guess she didn’t take me seriously when I asked if we could schedule it prior to the start of Pole Day qualifications at the track (noon - 6). Whatev.

Not much to report this morning

Looks like we’re headed home - baby in tow, but still en utero. While St. Francis has awesome wireless, their pullout beds leave something to be desired. The doc said every thing’s looking good, and we have nothing to worry about. They even mentioned Jo could go to work on Monday if she’s feeling up to it ( I doubt that , but we’ll see)
